Cambridge English Advanced demonstrates your high-level ability in English in educational and work related contexts. Your communication skills and fluency would be representative of years of English practice and would allow you to communicate comfortably in a variety of contexts. CAE is usually taken by students who hope to study in an English speaking institution or by people who want to improve their career prospects.
The Advanced exam is split into four papers; Reading and Use of English, Writing, Listening and Speaking. It gives examples of different contexts and types of language, so it is important to read widely and know a little about many different topics. The exam can be taken as a paper-based or computer-based test and lasts around 4 hours. Exam centers offer the CAE exam about four or five times per year.
To prepare for the C1 exam, you should have a strong knowledge of grammar and vocabulary and be able to give examples of this in your speaking and writing. Confidence and fluency are important to get the mark you want, this comes from knowing what to expect in the exam and lots of practice.
At Harper Morgan English we will do as much as possible to help you achieve the mark you want. We have always focused on experiencing a wide range of language and getting you to practice it. Our discussions are organised to help you get used to thinking critically which is a key skill to have if you want to do well in Advanced.
