Evan’s video breaks down an answer Trump gave when he was questioned about his position on immigration. He points out that Trump chooses not only his words carefully, but also his sentence structures. This means that Trump manipulates his answer in a way which appeals to people.
So, here are some questions for you to consider:
Even though what Donald Trump stands for goes against popular opinion, do you think that politicians should speak the way he does? It’s very likely that a number of people cannot understand politicians, either due to language barriers, basic education or the politician’s chosen language. So, should all politicians make sure that people understand what they say by speaking in simple sentences and using simple vocabulary?
Or do you believe that Trump’s answers are another form of political spin, used to brainwash people into thinking he stands for all the right things? And if the government were made to match the lowest level of understanding, would that be considered playing the game in order to gain support?
