Have you ever imagined being a celebrity? This week at Harper Morgan English, we’re discussing what it means to be famous.
There are many people who argue that celebrities are of no value to our society. Others believe that famous men and women deserve the millions they earn because they have to sacrifice their privacy. The fame machine creates and destroys celebrities everyday, so, which side do you agree with?
Ask yourself these questions;
Firstly, do you think what famous people do is work? It may not be how we traditionally think of work but do you think they work hard for their money just like we do?
Secondly, how would you feel if you couldn’t do day to day things without being followed by photographers and crowds of people?
Thirdly, do you think it’s okay that they live such expensive and lavish lifestyles? If you had the same amount of money, would you spend in the same way?
Finally, do you think it’s possible that famous people exist because society is obsessed with the idea of the rich and famous? Or are we so interested because celebrities provide us with entertainment?
We are always interested in your opinions so comment and let us know what you think. Share with your friends and join the discussion. Happy reading!
