Foster gave up his life in New York and his job at Ralph Lauren to live the life of a modern nomad. For three years he lived in a camper van, travelling around Western USA. He lead the life of zero obligations, travelling from town to town when he wanted. Until one day, he decided to build a treehouse in the Washington mountains. Foster now happily resides 11 meters off the ground and says his previous life in New York seems so distant.
So here are some questions for you to consider;
Why do you think someone who seems so successful want to give it up? Is there something about modern life that forces people to extremes?
Would you ever consider giving up your life in your town or city to live in the middle of nowhere? Do you think you’d be able to forgo modern amenities to be surrounded by the beauty of nature? Would you be comfortable knowing that you are the only person for kilometres?
Do you think you’d ever feel bored or scared? Or are you the sort of person who would feel only peace and calm?
As ever, we are really keen to hear what you think. Comment and share to join the conversation.
